Primary packaging
Primary packaging is what touches the product: the blister or strip for tablets and capsules, the bottle for a syrup, the tube for an ointment. The dosage form narrows the choice, and the manufacturer will advise on what suits your product's stability.
Within those limits there are real choices of material, format and pack size, and each has a different cost and lead time. We set the options out side by side for your product, so the choice is made on facts rather than habit.
Secondary packaging and pack sizes
Cartons, inserts and outer cases carry your brand and protect the product in transit. Pack size affects the price per unit, how the product sits on a chemist's shelf, and how much printed material you have to order.
Printed packing material usually has its own minimum quantities and lead times, separate from the product. We check these early, so a pack that looks cheap per unit does not leave you with cartons you cannot use.
Artwork that is right the first time
A pharmaceutical pack has to carry mandatory text and declarations. This includes the product name, composition and strength, batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates, the manufacturer's details and the declarations that apply to that particular product.
